GENERAL INFORMATION
COACHES POLICY: Tuition pays for training. It does not pay for the right to perform!
Please be clear that each member earns the right to perform through preparation as a team member. An irresponsible team member will NOT be allowed to jeopardize the performance of the entire team. Team members will not be allowed to compete if said member is not ready to dance, has missed too many practices, or has been previously injured and not quite ready to dance “full out”.
ALL PRACTICES ARE MANDATORY. If your child is unable to attend a practice, please call the office. Anyone missing practices in weeks prior to competition will not be allowed to compete in upcoming competitions. And, since entry fees are paid months in advance – you will forfeit your entry fee. Anyone missing a competition for any reason must submit in writing to the office, two months prior to the date of the competition that you will be missing.
Practices are closed to parents and friends.
COACHES DECISION IS FINAL! Please be advised that we operate as a team and that each member will be placed in the routine according to their strengths and in the best interest of the entire team. If a team member is struggling with a particular routine, the may be asked to sit out during a competition/performance.
Disciplinary problems could result in expulsion from the team. Three strikes and you are out! First offense – warning. Second offense – talk to the parents and possible suspension. Third offense – removal from the team.
Please note that there are NO REFUNDS for anyone quitting before the end of the season or for anyone removed from the team due to disciplinary action.
CROSSOVERS: Some dancers may try-out to cross up to the next age level. However, everyone must dance at their own age level in addition to crossing up. Dancers must also score as high as the next level up at try-outs. Cross-over’s must attend BOTH camps, attend all practices in addition to paying more tuition and fees to cover more entries and costumes. If at anytime the dancer is having problems keeping up with two levels – he/she may be asked to drop back to their own age level for competition.
CHOREOGRAPHY CAMP:All team members are required to attend and pay for a three day choreography camp (even if you cannot attend) held at STAR PERFORMANCE CENTRE in June. If you absolutely cannot attend camp due to family vacations, etc. you will be taught the routines on special dates to be determined. And you are not guaranteed to dance at the first competition. COST is $125.00 per camp.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:It is important to realize that being a member of an ALL STAR DANCE TEAM requires considerable financial and time commitments. Fund raising is provided and available to help defray the cost and expenses associated with the All Star Program. However, each parent is responsible for making the payments for all personal account expenses, travel and tuition. If the personal accounts and/or tuition are not up to date, your child may not participate in any SPC activities, including practice and competitions. Payments must be made, and if you are two months or more behind in payments, your child could be moved to a position that can easily be dropped for the next competition, until you are up to date in payments. You will be responsible for the competition fees even if they are “sitting” out, as the fees are paid months in advance. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS! You are responsible to pay any monies owed if you are expelled from the team or if you quit before the end of the season. If your child quits for any reason other than a medical reason (physician’s note is required) you will still be responsible for any monies owed and you will not get any refunds on fees already paid. Team members in good standing that finish the season, will be credited any monies leftover into their account for the next season. Graduating dancers will be refunded any excess money in their personal account that they have paid.
The Blazing Stars, Inc. (a non-profit youth organization – parent’s boosters) provides the opportunity for fund raising. Fund raising is optional, but available to everyone at SPC. This is made available to defray the cost and expenses associated with the All Star Dance Program. You can fund raise for Personal Account fees, travel and SPC gear. Fund raising for monthly tuition (to SPC) is not allowed.
Each team member will be responsible to make monthly “personal account” payments in addition to tuition.
The “personal account” pays for:
Registration fees/ Administration fees /Coach’s fees
Costume and all accessories needed (including shoes, socks, panty hose, etc.)
Practice wear / SPC warm up jacket and pants
Team make-up and hair accessories /under garments needed for costumes competition and entry fees
Props / scenery if needed
Music fees
Personal account payments will vary depending the team. However, all team members will be required to pay a $300.00 deposit by June 1, 2008. Beginning in July team members will be required to make regular payments to their personal accounts. This is in addition to making tuition payments monthly.
HEALTH INSURANCE:It is important to realize that athletic injuries do occur and can be costly. All dancers are responsible to have personal insurance. Star Performance Centre, their owners, coaches and any other representative is not responsible for any injury beyond your own personal insurance. |
